Iliad
Homer's Iliad, written around 800 BC, is an epic
poem of Ancient Greece, illustrating the brutal and unfortunate
consequences of war, specifically the war between Greece and Troy.
This version of The Illiad was translated by Samuel
Butler in 1898. Unfortunately, the names of gods and goddesses have
been transcribed into those of their Roman counterparts, which as
the Roman's incorperated the Greek culture and beliefs into their
own and not the other way around, is highly innacurate.
